Types of Manuscript
MAQASIDI: Jurnal Syariah dan Hukum welcomes original scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in Sharia, Islamic law, and related legal studies. The journal publishes research that demonstrates academic rigor, originality, methodological clarity, and substantive contributions to contemporary legal and Islamic scholarship.
The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:
1. Original Research Articles
Original research articles present the results of unpublished and original scholarly investigations. These articles may employ normative legal research, empirical legal research, socio-legal approaches, qualitative or quantitative methods, comparative legal analysis, or other appropriate research methodologies.
Manuscripts should clearly articulate the research problem, objectives, methodology, findings or analytical arguments, and contribution to existing scholarship.
2. Conceptual and Theoretical Articles
Conceptual and theoretical articles develop, critically examine, or refine theories, concepts, and analytical frameworks relevant to Sharia and legal studies. These manuscripts should offer a clear theoretical contribution, critical engagement with relevant literature, and a well-supported argument that advances scholarly understanding.
3. Comparative Legal Studies
Comparative legal studies examine similarities, differences, and interactions among legal systems, Islamic legal traditions, statutory frameworks, judicial practices, or legal institutions. Such manuscripts should employ a clear comparative framework and explain the significance of the comparison for legal theory, practice, or policy.
4. Socio-Legal and Interdisciplinary Studies
Socio-legal and interdisciplinary articles investigate the relationship between law and society, including legal institutions, social practices, access to justice, legal pluralism, human rights, gender, family law, and the implementation of Islamic law. These articles may integrate legal analysis with insights from sociology, anthropology, political science, economics, or other relevant disciplines.
5. Literature Reviews and Systematic Reviews
Literature review articles provide critical and structured evaluations of existing scholarship on significant topics within the journal's scope. Systematic reviews should clearly explain their research questions, search strategies, selection criteria, analytical procedures, and synthesis of findings. Review articles must offer meaningful analytical insights rather than merely summarize previously published studies.
6. Case Law and Legal Policy Analyses
Case law and legal policy articles critically examine judicial decisions, legislation, regulatory developments, and public policies relevant to Sharia and legal studies. Manuscripts should provide substantive legal reasoning, contextual analysis, and a clear explanation of the implications for legal interpretation, institutional practice, or policy development.
